Description
Coffee Oil from India is a distinctive warm, roasted and aromatic natural fragrance material with the recognizable character associated with freshly roasted coffee. Its profile can combine roasted, slightly bitter, nutty and subtly sweet facets, making it useful for creating depth and warmth in fragrance compositions.
In perfumery, Coffee Oil is particularly valuable in gourmand, oriental, woody, amber and warm fragrance accords. It can introduce a natural roasted character into a composition while complementing sweet materials such as vanilla and benzoin. Used carefully, it can also add complexity to woody and ambery bases without making the fragrance overly gourmand.
Coffee blends naturally with vanilla, cocoa and caramel-style materials, while patchouli, cedarwood and sandalwood can reinforce its darker woody character. Citrus materials such as bergamot and orange can provide contrast and help brighten the opening, while jasmine and rose can create an interesting balance between roasted warmth and floral facets.
Natural coffee materials can vary in odor depending on the botanical source and extraction or processing method. The actual material should therefore be evaluated in the intended fragrance base before determining its final dosage.

Perfumers' Tip
Coffee Oil works especially well as a dark roasted accent in gourmand and amber compositions. Combine it with vanilla and benzoin for warmth, or contrast it with bergamot and soft florals for a more contemporary coffee accord.
