Description

IBQ is a powerful perfumery material known for its smoky, leathery, animalic and woody character. In fragrance construction, IBQ is primarily used as a character material and oud modifier. It can introduce darkness, texture and a more rugged natural impression to woody accords. Perfumers often use it to give synthetic or natural oud constructions greater depth, while its leathery side can also be useful in building dark leather and smoky accords.

IBQ works particularly well in oud, leather, woody, amber and oriental compositions. It can be paired with agarwood materials, cypriol, birch tar and patchouli to build darker accords, while sandalwood and vanilla can help round its sharper edges.
