Description
Pino Acetald, also known as Pino Acetaldehyde, is a distinctive aldehydic perfumery material with a fresh combination of pine, green, marine, watery and woody facets. It is particularly useful for creating a crisp, natural-feeling freshness reminiscent of pine forests and a clean sea breeze.
Its character makes it valuable in fresh woody, marine, aromatic, green and fougère-style compositions. The material can provide a bright opening while also contributing a woody and balsamic character that helps connect fresh top notes with the heart of a fragrance. Its aldehydic effect can make a composition feel more spacious and invigorating.
Pino Acetald works especially well with citrus oils, green materials, pine-type notes and woody ingredients. It can also be used to introduce a fresh marine dimension into floral or fruity compositions without completely changing their main character. In more complex formulas, it can provide contrast against warmer woods, resins and musks.
For perfumers, Pino Acetald is best evaluated at several dilution levels. At lower levels it can provide a subtle green-pine freshness, while increasing the dosage makes its marine, aldehydic and coniferous character increasingly noticeable.

Perfumers' Tip
Pino Acetald is excellent for creating a fresh pine-and-sea-breeze effect. Try pairing it with citrus and marine materials for a bright opening, or with cedarwood and vetiver for a more natural forest-like character.
