Description

Aldehyde C6, also known as Hexanal or Caproaldehyde, is a highly volatile aliphatic aldehyde with a characteristic fresh, green, grassy, leafy and slightly fatty odor. Perfumers' Tip

Aldehyde C6 is best used in very small quantities to create a convincing freshly cut-green effect. Start with a dilute solution and build gradually, as excessive use can make the composition sharply fatty or harsh.

For a realistic green accord, combine it with cis-3-Hexenol, cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate and citrus materials. For an apple or fresh-fruit effect, combine it with fruity esters and floral materials to soften its sharp green edge.
