Description

Allyl Caproate, also known as Allyl Hexanoate, is a powerful fruity aroma chemical with a distinctive tropical character. Its odor profile is dominated by pineapple-like, fruity and juicy nuances, with additional hints of apple, banana and tropical fruit.

In perfumery, Allyl Caproate is primarily used to create tropical fruit and pineapple accords. Its strong fruity character makes it useful for adding immediate impact and juicy freshness to compositions, particularly when a bright, sweet and exotic fruit effect is desired.

It works especially well with other fruity esters, citrus materials and sweet ingredients. At low levels, it can provide a subtle tropical lift, while higher concentrations can produce a much more pronounced pineapple and juicy-fruit effect.

Perfumers' Tip

Allyl Caproate is excellent for building a bright, juicy pineapple effect. Combine it with other fruity esters for a more realistic tropical accord, or use Gamma Undecalactone and Gamma Decalactone to add creamy fruitiness and body. A small amount of Ethyl Maltol can enhance the sweet, ripe-fruit impression.
