Description
Ambrocenide Sym 10% DPG is a highly powerful and long-lasting amber-woody fragrance material supplied at 10% dilution in DPG (dipropylene glycol). Symrise describes Ambrocenide as an ambery and woody material that works as a powerful top-to-base booster. It can lend strength to woody and amber accords while adding volume to floral heart notes.
The odor profile is characterized by dry woods, warm amber, powerful ambery facets and subtle animalic nuances. At higher perception levels, it can also show a sharp, smoky and agarwood-like character.
One of Ambrocenide's major strengths is its ability to increase the impact, diffusion and persistence of a fragrance. Symrise notes that it can enhance citrus and aldehydic notes at low levels and help musk notes become perceptible in the top. It is therefore useful not only in heavy woody bases but also as a booster for fresh, floral and musky compositions.
Because this product is already diluted to 10% in DPG, it is considerably easier to dose than crystalline Ambrocenide and is particularly convenient for perfumers experimenting with this exceptionally strong material.

Perfumers' Tip
Ambrocenide is best approached as a booster rather than an ordinary woody ingredient. Even at very low levels, it can dramatically change the strength and diffusion of a formula.
For a modern amber-woody accord, try Ambrocenide 10% DPG + Ambroxan + Timbersilk + Cashmerane + Cedarwood. This creates a powerful, diffusive woody base with excellent persistence.
For an oud-inspired composition, combine it with Olibanum, Labdanum, Patchouli, Vetiver and Oud materials. A small amount of Tobacarol can introduce a dry tobacco nuance, while Suederal can create a smoother leather dimension.
Ambrocenide can also be used in surprisingly fresh compositions. Symrise specifically notes that it can enhance citrus and aldehydic notes at low use levels and give volume and strength to floral heart notes.
For a fresh floral booster, try Ambrocenide 10% DPG + Bergamot + Hedione + Jasmine + White Musk. The Ambrocenide should remain in the background while improving the overall impact and persistence.
Symrise describes Ambrocenide 10 DPG as a powerful and long-lasting top-to-base booster, with recommended use from traces up to 5%.
Important: Ambrocenide is exceptionally powerful. When evaluating it, prepare low-concentration dilutions and smell the fragrance both immediately and after drydown. Using too much can quickly dominate a composition with a sharp, dry woody-amber effect.
