Description

Beta Damascone is a highly powerful aroma chemical with a distinctive rosy, fruity, plum-like, woody and slightly tobacco-like character. It belongs to the damascone family of fragrance materials and is valued for its ability to add depth, richness and complexity to floral and fruity compositions. Its character combines the elegance of rose with darker dried-fruit and woody nuances.

In perfumery, Beta Damascone is particularly useful for creating rose, fruity-floral, plum, berry and oriental effects. Perfumers' Tip

Beta Damascone is best used as a high-impact accent material. Start with a very dilute solution and increase gradually, as overdosing can quickly dominate a floral composition.

For a rich rose accord, combine it with Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Geraniol and Hedione. For a darker fruity effect, pair it with plum, berry and patchouli materials.
