Description

Cassifix (IFF) is a distinctive fragrance material known for its fresh, fruity, green and cassis character. Unlike many traditional cassis materials that rely on sulfur-containing ingredients, Cassifix provides a non-sulfurous blackcurrant effect with excellent diffusion and persistence. IFF describes it as a substantive fruity-green cassis note that adds sparkle to a wide range of fragrances.

Its aroma combines juicy blackcurrant, green berry, fresh herbal and slightly sweet fruity facets. This creates a vibrant natural-style cassis effect that can give fragrances a sparkling, juicy quality without becoming excessively sulfurous or harsh.

Cassifix is particularly useful in red berry, blackcurrant, fruity, tropical, citrus and floral compositions. IFF highlights its ability to influence sweet, vanilla and powdery notes toward a more gourmand character. It also has a strong room-filling bloom and works particularly well alongside natural cassis materials.

Perfumers' Tip

Cassifix is particularly useful when you want a bright, juicy and natural-looking cassis effect with excellent diffusion. Use it alongside natural Cassis or Cassis Base to reinforce the characteristic blackcurrant impression without relying entirely on sulfur-containing cassis materials.

For a sparkling fruity accord, try Cassifix + Bergamot + Grapefruit + Raspberry + Hedione. Add Delta Damascone or Beta Damascone for a richer berry and rosy-fruity character. IFF specifically lists Ambrettolide, Delta Damascone and Cashmerane among its useful combinations.

For a green-fruity fragrance, combine Cassifix + Violet Leaf + Cis-3-Hexenol + Galbanum + Bergamot. This creates a fresh leafy effect around the juicy cassis core.

Cassifix can also add an interesting dimension to sweet and gourmand fragrances. IFF notes that it can influence sweet, vanilla and powdery notes toward a more gourmand character.

One of Cassifix's key advantages is its persistence. While many cassis materials are primarily top notes, IFF reports approximately 24 hours of substantivity, giving Cassifix unusual staying power for this type of fruity-green note.

Because Cassifix is described as very powerful and diffusive, start with a trace amount and evaluate the fragrance after dilution and during the drydown before increasing the dosage.
