Description

Cedroxyde is a modern synthetic woody aroma chemical with a distinctive dry, powerful and complex woody character, supported by amber, cedar, patchouli and sandalwood nuances. It is a long-lasting material used to give fragrance compositions structure, elegance and a refined woody foundation.

In perfumery, Cedroxyde is particularly useful for building woody, amber, chypre, aromatic, oriental and fougère compositions. Its dry character can help create a clear woody backbone, while its ambery quality adds warmth and depth. It can also bring a subtle powdery and smooth quality that helps connect dry woods with softer base materials.

Perfumers' Tip

Cedroxyde works particularly well as a woody base booster. Use it to give a composition more structure, dryness and persistence without relying entirely on natural cedarwood materials.

For a modern woody accord, combine it with Iso E Super, Ambroxan and Cashmeran. For a richer natural-wood effect, pair it with cedarwood, patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver. Its strong and persistent character makes gradual addition from a dilution useful during evaluation.
