Description

Cetalox is a powerful synthetic ambergris-type aroma chemical belonging to the ambroxide family. It has a characteristic dry, woody, ambery and warm profile, with musky and ambergris-like facets. Perfumers' Tip

Cetalox is an excellent material for building a modern ambergris-style base. Start with a working dilution and evaluate it both on a blotter and on skin, as its dry woody-amber character develops gradually.

For a smooth contemporary base, combine it with Iso E Super, Hedione and soft musks. For a richer amber accord, pair it with labdanum, patchouli, sandalwood and other woody materials. The material's strong substantivity means that relatively small amounts can noticeably influence the drydown.
