Description
Cumin Oil is a distinctive and highly characterful essential oil known for its warm, spicy, earthy and aromatic profile. It is used in perfumery primarily as an accent material, adding depth and a natural spicy nuance to compositions.
Its aroma combines warm spice, earthy, herbaceous, dry and slightly animalic facets. This unusual character can bring complexity and sensuality to a fragrance when carefully dosed.
Cumin Oil is particularly useful in oriental, spicy, woody, amber, leather and chypre compositions. It can also be used in trace amounts to give floral fragrances a warmer and more natural character.

Perfumers' Tip
Cumin Oil is best treated as a trace-level character material rather than a dominant fragrance note. Tiny amounts can add warmth, sensuality and natural complexity to a composition.
For a spicy oriental accord, try Cumin Oil + Saffron + Black Pepper + Rose + Labdanum. Patchouli and Oud Accord can enhance its darker character, while Bergamot and Mandarin can provide brightness and balance.
It can be particularly effective in rose, leather, oud and amber compositions, where its subtle animalic warmth adds depth and sensuality. Start extremely low and increase gradually during evaluation.
