Description

D.M.B.C.B, short for Dimethyl Benzyl Carbinyl Butyrate, is a versatile fruity-floral aroma chemical known for its rich, sweet and distinctive dried-fruit character. Its odor profile features plum, prune, raisin, fruity, soft floral and mildly herbaceous facets.

In perfumery, D.M.B.C.B is particularly useful for creating fruity, floral, oriental and chypre compositions. It adds depth and richness to fruit accords while helping create a smooth transition between fruity top notes and floral heart materials.

Its warm and slightly dried-fruit character makes it especially effective in plum, red-fruit, rose and violet accords. It can also be used as a modifier to give floral compositions greater body and a more rounded fruity character.

D.M.B.C.B is excellent for adding a rich plum and dried-fruit character to a fragrance. Combine it with rose materials and Phenethyl Alcohol for a fruity rose accord, or pair it with Beta Ionone and Violet materials for a sophisticated fruity-violet effect.
