Description

Galbex, also known as Galbex 183, is a distinctive green and herbal aroma chemical used to create vivid, natural-looking green effects in perfumery. Its character is reminiscent of galbanum, crushed green leaves, fresh herbs and aromatic vegetation.

It is particularly useful for adding a sharp yet sophisticated green dimension to fragrance compositions. Galbex can give a formula greater freshness and natural character while helping build the impression of freshly cut stems and green foliage.

In perfumery, it is especially valuable in green, herbal, aromatic, chypre and floral-green accords. Because of its strong character, it is generally best evaluated at low concentrations before increasing the dosage.

Perfumers' Tip

Galbex is useful when you want a strong, crisp and realistic green effect. Pair it with Galbanum Oil and Stemone for a deep botanical accord, or use it with Cis-3-Hexenol and Cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate for a freshly crushed-leaf impression. Vetiver, Patchouli and Oakmoss can add depth and transform the green effect into a sophisticated chypre accord.
