Description

Geranyl Acetate is a versatile floral and fruity aroma chemical with a fresh, elegant and slightly sweet character. It combines rosy, citrus, fruity and green facets, making it particularly useful for creating bright and natural floral effects.

As an acetate ester of Geraniol, Geranyl Acetate generally offers a smoother, fruitier and more rounded character than Geraniol itself. It can provide freshness and floral brightness without creating an overly heavy rose effect.

In perfumery, it is widely used in rose, geranium, floral, citrus-floral and fruity compositions. It is also useful for adding a natural lift to floral accords and creating smooth transitions between citrus top notes and floral heart materials.

Perfumers' Tip

Geranyl Acetate is excellent for adding a fresh, fruity and softly rosy character. Combine it with Geraniol and Citronellol for a fuller rose or geranium accord, or pair it with citrus oils and Citral for a bright citrus-floral effect. Hedione can add radiance, while white musks can provide a smooth and clean finish.
