Description

Hedione, commonly known as Methyl Dihydrojasmonate, is one of the most important and widely used floral aroma chemicals in modern perfumery. It has a soft, transparent and elegant jasmine-like character, combined with fresh, citrusy and slightly fruity nuances.

One of Hedione's most valuable qualities is its ability to provide radiance, diffusion and airiness without making a fragrance feel heavy. It can make floral compositions feel more open, luminous and expansive.

Perfumers' Tip

Hedione is an excellent material for creating radiant, airy and diffusive floral fragrances. Use it generously with Jasmine materials and Cis Jasmone for a sophisticated jasmine accord. It also works beautifully with citrus materials for a fresh floral effect, while Iso E Super and Ambroxan can create a modern transparent woody-floral base. White musks can add softness and persistence.
