Description

Isolongifolene is a distinctive woody aroma chemical valued for its dry, warm and highly substantive character. Its odor profile combines woody, amber, cedar-like, pine, resinous and slightly smoky facets, giving fragrance compositions depth and structure.

It is particularly useful for creating powerful woody bases and can contribute a natural, forest-like impression. Its excellent substantivity allows the woody character to remain noticeable well into the drydown.

Perfumers' Tip

Isolongifolene is excellent for creating a dry, powerful and long-lasting woody foundation. Combine it with Iso E Super and Cedramber for a modern diffusive woody accord, or pair it with Cedarwood and Vetiver for a more natural forest-like character. Labdanum, Benzoin and Gurjun Balsam can add warmth and resinous depth, while Ambroxan can provide a smoother amber finish.
