Description
Jasmal (IFF) is a distinctive aroma chemical used in perfumery to create a green, herbal and naturalistic jasmine effect. IFF describes its odor as oily, plant-like and herbaceous, with lavender, slightly mushroomy and floral tea-jasmine facets.
Its character combines green, herbal, floral, jasmine, tea-like, oily and slightly mushroomy nuances. This unusual combination makes Jasmal particularly useful when a composition needs a more natural, earthy or botanical jasmine character rather than a purely sweet white-floral effect.
Jasmal works especially well in jasmine, white-floral, green, floral, herbal and natural-style fragrances. It can add depth and realism to jasmine accords and create an earthy-green contrast within floral compositions. It is also suitable for fine fragrance and functional fragrance applications.

Perfumers' Tip
Jasmal is particularly useful for creating a naturalistic, green and slightly earthy jasmine effect. Combine it with Hedione and Cis-Jasmone for a fuller jasmine accord, or pair it with Jasmine Absolute and Benzyl Acetate for a richer white-floral profile.
For a fresh green-jasmine composition, try Jasmal + Bergamot + Hedione + Jasmine + Galbanum. Violet Leaf and Cis-3-Hexenol can emphasize its green character, while Sandalwood and White Musks can soften the drydown.
Jasmal has a recognizable mushroomy-green facet, which can be valuable for realism but may become dominant when overdosed. Start at low levels and evaluate carefully before increasing the dosage. IFF lists Jasmal as an excellent performer in fine fragrance.
