Description

Melozone is an IFF fragrance ingredient with an unusual combination of green melon, fresh-air and aldehydic facets. Its character is fresh, airy and green, with a distinctive aldehydic brightness that gives compositions a feeling of openness and radiance. IFF classifies its top-note impact as high and its heart-note impact as medium, making it particularly useful for creating an energetic opening with continued presence into the heart.

In fragrance construction, Melozone is useful for creating modern green, fruity, aquatic and fresh-air effects. It can add transparency and lift to compositions while giving melon accords a more natural, dewy quality. Its fresh-air character also makes it valuable in marine and clean fragrances, while its distinctive green profile can complement vetiver, citrus and other fresh materials. IFF reports substantivity of more than 48 hours and a typical use level of up to 4%.

Perfumers' Tip

Melozone works particularly well when used in small amounts to introduce fresh-air radiance and green melon character. Combine it with Melonal for a stronger melon effect, or with Floralozone and marine materials for a clean aquatic atmosphere. It can also bring freshness and lift to woody materials such as vetiver.
