Description

Oxane 50 TEC, commonly known as Exothiane, is a highly powerful sulfur-containing aroma chemical used to create distinctive fruity, tropical and green effects in modern perfumery. It is supplied at 50% concentration in Triethyl Citrate (TEC), making it easier to handle and incorporate into fragrance formulations.

Its character is known for its combination of tropical fruit, green, cassis-like, grapefruit and sulfurous nuances. At very low levels, it can provide remarkable realism and lift to fruity and citrus accords.

Because of its high olfactory impact, Oxane 50 TEC should generally be treated as a trace-level material. Small changes in dosage can significantly alter the character of a fragrance.

Oxane 50 TEC is best used as a high-impact trace material to add realism and diffusion to fruity and citrus compositions. Try combining a very small amount with Methyl Pamplemousse, Grapefruit Oil and D-Limonene to create a vibrant grapefruit accord. Cis-3-Hexenol can reinforce the green facet, while fruity esters can build a juicy tropical effect.

Important: Because Exothiane is extremely powerful, always evaluate it at high dilution and increase the dosage gradually. Avoid judging the material directly at high concentration; its sulfurous character can become dominant very quickly.
