Description
Phenoxanol (IFF) is a versatile floral aroma chemical known for its fresh, diffusive and rosy character reminiscent of rose absolute. IFF describes it as an unusually long-lasting material that can create an expensive rose oil or rose absolute effect while providing freshness and diffusion.
Its aroma combines fresh floral, rosy, geranium-like, soft green and slightly natural rose facets. The material is particularly valuable for adding volume and persistence to floral compositions without making the accord excessively heavy.
Phenoxanol works especially well in rose, floral, fresh, citrus-floral, geranium and modern fine fragrances. Its excellent stability also makes it suitable for soaps, shampoos, deodorants, fabric conditioners and other fragranced products. IFF reports very good performance in fine fragrance and substantivity of more than 48 hours.

Perfumers' Tip
Phenoxanol is particularly useful for creating a fresh, diffusive and long-lasting rose effect. Combine it with Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol and Citronellol for a fuller rose accord, or pair it with Geranium Oil and Geraniol for a more green and natural floral character.
For a modern rose composition, try Phenoxanol + Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol + Hedione + Bergamot + White Musks. Damascones can add fruity and rosy depth, while Rose Oxide can introduce a sparkling green-rose facet.
Phenoxanol is especially valuable when you need rose character with freshness, volume and persistence. IFF reports medium top-note impact, with additional heart and base presence, and substantivity of more than 48 hours.
Because Phenoxanol is both diffusive and persistent, start at moderate levels and evaluate the complete drydown before increasing the dosage.
