Description
Phenylethyl Alcohol, commonly known as PEA, is one of the most important and widely used floral aroma chemicals in perfumery. It has a soft, natural and elegant rose-like character, accompanied by fresh, honeyed, slightly sweet and mildly powdery facets.
PEA is especially valued for its ability to create a natural rose effect while adding softness and volume to floral compositions. It is also an excellent blending material because of its smooth character and compatibility with a wide range of fragrance ingredients.
In perfumery, Phenylethyl Alcohol is extensively used in rose, floral, fresh, fruity-floral and natural-style fragrances. It is also commonly used in soaps, shampoos and personal-care products.

Perfumers' Tip
PEA is a must-have material for learning and building rose accords. Combine it with Geraniol and Citronellol for a classic rose profile, or add Nerol for extra freshness and naturalness. Hedione can increase floral diffusion, while Phenyl Acetic Acid introduces a honeyed nuance. Sandalwood and white musks can give the finished accord a smooth, elegant drydown.
