Description
Star Anise Oil is a distinctive natural essential oil known for its characteristic sweet, spicy, licorice-like and aromatic profile. It is a powerful fragrance material that can add warmth, complexity and an unmistakable anise character to perfume compositions.
Its aroma combines sweet anise, spicy, herbal, slightly woody and warm facets, creating a rich aromatic effect. The strong licorice-like character makes it particularly useful when a fragrance requires a distinctive spicy or aromatic accent.
Star Anise Oil works especially well in spicy, oriental, aromatic, woody, gourmand and amber fragrances. It can add character to the top and heart while blending naturally with citrus, herbs, warm spices and deeper woody materials.

Perfumers' Tip
Star Anise Oil is best used as a distinctive spicy-aromatic accent. Combine it with Bergamot, Mandarin and Lavender to create a bright aromatic opening, or pair it with Cardamom, Ginger and Black Pepper for a richer spice accord.
For a warm gourmand direction, try Star Anise Oil + Benzoin + Vanilla + Tonka Bean + Sandalwood. Patchouli and Vetiver can add depth, while Olibanum Oil and Labdanum can create a darker resinous character.
Because its licorice-like character is very recognizable, start at low levels and increase gradually during evaluation to keep the composition balanced.
