Description
Styrallyl Alcohol, commonly written as Styralyl Alcohol, is a versatile floral aroma chemical with a fresh, green and slightly fruity character. It is appreciated for its hyacinth-like, floral, leafy and mildly rosy facets, making it useful for creating fresh and natural-looking floral compositions.
Its relatively soft character allows it to blend easily with a wide variety of floral and green materials. It can provide freshness and body to floral accords while helping connect brighter green top notes with the floral heart.
Styrallyl Alcohol is particularly useful in hyacinth, green floral, fresh, fruity-floral and natural-style fragrances.

Perfumers' Tip
Styrallyl Alcohol is useful for adding a fresh green-floral lift to floral compositions. Combine it with Hydroxy Citronellal and Floropal for a soft hyacinth/muguet effect, or use it with Cis-3-Hexenol to create a greener, more natural impression. Hedione can increase floral diffusion, while white musks provide a clean and smooth finish.
Important nomenclature note: Styrallyl Alcohol is 1-phenylethanol (CAS 98-85-1). Do not confuse it with Styrallyl Acetate, which is a different fragrance material with a different CAS number and odor profile.
